A HeartBreaker! And Den Some

The Celtics left it all out there on the court tonight but came up short in overtime.

It looked to me like the Celtics age caught up to them tonight:  the old Celtic legs obviousely did not recover from Saturday's emotional victory.  So many shots rimming out. KG, 1 -10, Ray, 5 -12, Big Baby Davis, 1 -4 (3 air balls).  Even Paul, who shot 10 -20, had a number of shots rim-out or go half-way down and then pop out, a sure sign of tired legs when shots behave in that uncooperative manner.

This BoxScore  tells a story that is not too far off the story of the game.

The C's lost the rebounding battle especially on the offensive boards 3 - 10.  Points in the paint, largely due to 2nd chance points by the Heat and missed shots by the C's, led to a 48 - 32 differential favoring the Heat.

Rondo did his job though he was clearly hobbled by the arm:  10 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds along with 3 turnovers, several of them a case study in horrible.

Now, the C's have their work cut out for them going down Miami for a game on Thursday.  One day off and a travel day to boot.

How can those tired legs recover from this game?  They got to.  They just got to.  Don''t let Ol' Dan be right about this.

I want to give the Heat their props.  They won this game, took it from the Celtics, in crunch time.

You don't get but a few mistakes playing this Heat team, and the Celtics made a few mistakes too many.

This was a winnable game for the Celtics, too bad they lost.
